BREAKING: Israel Strikes Iran

Date:

The Israeli Air Force struck Iran on Thursday night, with explosions heard in Tehran.

It is unclear which targets Israel struck.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a “special situation” throughout Israel for the next 48 hours due to a “high probability” that a retaliatory attack would occur.

Before the strikes, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee tweeted that he would remain at the embassy all night.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!” Huckabee said, responding to a tweet from the State Department encouraging American citizens in Israel and the surrounding region to be cautious.

Earlier on Thursday, President Donald Trump said that an Israeli attack was something “that could very well happen,” but said he preferred a diplomatic approach to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon.

“Whether it’s going in or not going in, they can’t have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said. “I’d prefer the more friendly path.”

This is a developing story.
