Liberal host Kyle Kulinski mocked Erika Kirk, the widow of assassinated conservative Charlie Kirk, in a widely ridiculed X post on Friday night.
The post framed Erika, the mother of two young children, as a money-hungry widow who is only pretending to miss her murdered husband for profit.
Kulinski, who is married to liberal host Krystal Ball, posted a fake image of a Halloween costume, which features a crying Erika with running mascara holding a plate of money. The “costume” is called “Fake Grieving Widow Grifter” and includes accessories such as “Fake tear drops” and “Skin-tight black leather mourning pants.”
Conservative Will Chamberlin responded to the post, “They hate you, want you dead, and will mock your wife if one of their crazies assassinates you.”
Tyler Robinson has been charged in the assassination of Kirk. The 22-year-old’s parents say Robinson confessed the crime to them and said he murdered Kirk because “there is too much evil and the guy [Charlie Kirk] spreads too much hate,” according to court documents. Robinson was also reportedly in a romantic relationship with a male who identifies as a transgender furry.
“This is a level of toxic brain rot that should alarm any friends and family you might have,” Matt Whitlock reacted to Kulinski’s post.
“This is extremely ugly behavior, and you should feel ashamed of yourself,” conservative Charles C. W. Cooke said.
Erika has been praised for vowing to continue her late husband’s fight. With the backing of Turning Point USA staff, she was elevated to lead the organization, which was co-founded by her late husband.
She also forgave Robinson for killing Kirk, making the powerful statement during his memorial. “My husband Charlie, he wanted to save young men just like the one who took his life. … That young man, I forgive him,” she said at a packed memorial for Kirk. “I forgive him because it was what Christ did and is what Charlie would do.”
The young widow has also shared an inside look at her love story with Kirk, whom she calls the love of her life, revealing that Kirk wrote her a love letter every single Saturday.
