Protesters in Dublin, Ireland, set a police car on fire and threw glass bottles at police officers after a 10-year-old Irish girl in state care was sexually assaulted by a migrant with a year-long standing deportation order.
The clash erupted outside of the City West Hotel, which no longer functions as a hotel but as a state-run facility to house migrants. More than 300 police officers were sent to quell the violence. Protesters were seen waving Irish flags and chanting, “Get them out, get them out.”
