Tim Walz Says Kamala Picked Him For His Ability To ‘Code Talk To White Guys’

Date:

Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) claimed during a recent “listening tour” event that former Vice President Kamala Harris chose him as her running mate because he could “code talk to white guys” and provide a “permission structure” in which they might feel comfortable voting for a black woman.

Walz spoke Monday evening at a Harvard Kennedy School forum — and after stating that he had no plans to run for the Democratic nomination in 2028, he explained what he believed he’d brought to the table during the 2024 presidential campaign.

“I knew I was on the ticket — I would argue because we did a lot of amazing progressive things in Minnesota that improved people’s lives,” Walz began. “But I also was on the ticket, quite honestly you know, because I could code talk to white guys watching football, fixing their truck, doing that, that I could put them at ease.”

“I was the permission structure to say, look, you can do this, and vote for this,” Walz continued. “And if you look across those swing states, with the exception of Minnesota, we didn’t get enough …”

“This just tells you how out of touch Democrats are with normal, everyday Americans. They really thought Walz would connect with white guys?” Twitchy’s Sam Janney replied.

“He put all the undecided White guys at ease with voting for Donald Trump,” Jim Hanson said.

“Hey, fellow white males, let’s ride big trucks to the park to grill meat, play sportsball, and talk about breasts,” Jon Gabriel mocked the Minnesota Governor.

“I wonder if Democrats prefer the Tim Walz approach of yammering on in public like this after getting trounced, or the Tim Kaine approach of fading back into political oblivion after his loss,” Chuck Ross mused.
